Court rejects police plot against suspension in Farishta case

The Islamabad High Court has rejected the appeal by the police of former Chaudhry sub-district Abid Hussain against his suspension for a situation that corresponds to the assault and murder of a 10-year-old girl, Farishta.

The Acting President of the Court, Aamer Farooq, stated that the claim could not be heard because it was not viable in the courts.

Hussain, currently serving as SDPO Shahzad Town police station, was expelled from his post along with other police authorities for neglecting the situation. Hussain expressed in his application that the postponement of the recording of a first data report (FIR) of the episode had not been caused.

The Farishta case was released in May after his family had filed a lawsuit against the Islamabad police. During the interrogation, it was reported that the head of the Shahzad City Police Headquarters (SHO) would not initially register a case of disappearance.
